Submitted by Label GMO's, Oregon Right To Know.org Big Popcorn has a secret. Popcorn seeds from many major suppliers are coated with a bee-toxic insecticide that is exterminating entire honeybee colonies. And with Americans consuming over 2 billion pounds of popcorn every year, if we don't take action now, honeybees will continue to be at risk! Word is getting out about these nasty chemicals. Pop Weaver, the second largest popcorn supplier in the United States, announced a plan to phase out use of neonicotinoids, the pesticides killing our bees. That's great news โ€“ but now we need to get even more popcorn producers on board. So much of our food supply depends on honeybees: Nearly one third of our food is pollinated by our happy buzzing friends! We're counting on you to help us put pressure on the popcorn industry to end the use of bee-killing chemicals. Together, we can send a strong message that we must protect our food supply and our bees. Save the honeybees today! Tell Pop Secret to stop using harmful chemicals on their popcorn!
