By Donna Westfall Remember 3 pm on Monday, May 25th. Memorial Day is a Federal holiday celebrated the last Monday in May each year. It is to honor those who have lost their lives serving the United States while in the military. Memorial Day originated after the Civil War to honor both sides: Union and Confederate soldiers. This year Memorial Day is celebrated on Monday, May 25th. At 3 pm, please take moment to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty to their country. That's one month from today. Take a minute, literally, and for 60 seconds recall those you may have personally lost among family and friends who served in the military.
