It is to honor those who have lost their lives serving the United States while in the military. Memorial Day originated after the Civil War to honor both sides: Union and Confederate soldiers. This year Memorial Day is celebrated on Monday, May 25th. At 3 pm, please take moment to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty to their country. That's one month from today. Take a minute, literally, and for 60 seconds recall those you may have personally lost among family and friends who served in the military.
