Sen. Jim Nielson BY DONNA WESTFALL Breaking news: Our Senator does not believe that labeling Genetically Engineered foods is necessary. He does not believe that eating GE food products is necessarily bad. He voted against SB 1381. The vote failed to pass.When I called Sen. Nielson's office in Sacramento this morning, the woman who answered the phone knew nothing about the vote, knew nothing about the Senator's stance. Scott Feller called back this morning to advise me of the Senator's stance and vote. Scott manns the Senator's office locally. Too bad our Senator didn't take the time to educate himself and vote for the public interested in making choices about GE and GMO food's being labeled. It's truly disappointing.
