Remember "Gilligan's Island," popular TV cult classic sitcom from the mid 1960's? Russell Johnson played THE PROFESSOR and joined Alan Hale, Jr. Jim Backus and of course, Bob Denver who starred as Gilligan all now deceased. Years ago, I met the creator of Gilligan's Island, Sherwood Schwartz in LA. He was a writer and producer, known for The Red Skelton Hour (1951), The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) and The Brady Bunch (1969) and wrote for other programs, mostly comedies like "I Married Joan." We were sitting next to each other getting ready to register our treatments for new programs. I remember his large glasses and thinking I didn't believe him when he told me his name was Sherwood Schwartz. But after chatting for a few minutes, decided I'd give him the benefit of doubt. He died on July 12, 2011 in Los Angeles, California, USA
