END OF DAY © By Vickey Stamps A gently aged loved one lay Seeking peace near the end of day A ‘signature on her life’ had been signed With a body now weakened …. A face now lined As I tucked her in, I heard her say “Lord, please give me one more day, One more day to set things right Lord, please see me through the night May I forgive and be forgiven Make my life be worth the livin’ Ready my mansion, for I draw near Hold me close that I feel no fear” I bent to kiss her troubled brow And in silence prayer, “Lord teach me how. Teach me to live in such a way That I may turn to you, at the end of day”
