By Janet Price – January 14, 2024 AB 1955 is a serious and direct attack on parental rights in California. This bill will prohibit all school employees or contracted individuals from being required to notify parents of any information regarding their child’s gender identity or sexual orientation. The bill also declares any parental notification policy that school board has passed to be invalid. Currently AB1955 has passed the California Senate floor today and will move quickly to Assembly.
