BY DONNA WESTFALL Festival of Trees put on by Emblem Club It’s one of the most beautiful events of the holiday season. Living or artificial trees were decorated and on display around the perimeter of the room at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds, Saturday, December 8th. At the door you could buy raffle tickets to win a tree. You deposited your tickets in the can for the tree you’d really like to win and hope for the best. Many people had tickets galore depositing them in can after can. Also as part of the event, a luncheon took place in much of the main room and side room. The monies raised go to the ladies in the Emblem Club and directly benefit local charities and DNHS scholarships. This is one event to mark on your calendar for next year. Anyone can decorate a tree; kids, adults or businesses.
