August 30th, 2024 – For Redwood Voice Community News, a production of Redwood Voice Youth Media, today’s news: Crescent City Council discussed condensing the copious vacant part time positions into full time positions; a standoff between two Seniors in the Brookings McDonald’s Drive-thru; the Oregon Department of Human Services opens a new building in Brookings; Nautical News from Fishing The North Coast; California passes a bill allowing local tribes to co-manage their ancestral territory; the last of the coffer dams on the Klamath come down; with the dam removal complete, CDFW releases their anadromous fishery reintroduction and restoration monitoring plan; and Oregon firefighters extinguished a brush fire in Cave Junction earlier this week.
