June 27th, 2024 – For Redwood Voice Community News, a production of Redwood Voice Youth Media, today’s news: Runners of the Peace and Dignity Journey made their way through Smith River Tuesday; Del Norte supervisors determine whether the County should have a role in economic development; Supervisors also discussed a proposal to increase wages within the roads division; one of the major funding sources for rural California schools is reaching its expiration; with fire danger increasing, CalFire suspends all residential outdoor burn permits; Yurok Fire Department personnel receive certifications for Public Safety First Aid; and a missing Santa Cruz hiker is rescued, says “it was an awesome experience.” All this and our regular segments from the Pacifica Radio Network and National Native News.
