Expecting mothers are worried about how COVID-19 immunization will affect themselves and their growing baby during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tens of thousands of pregnant women have been immunized with no complications, and they will pass along antibodies for COVID to the infant while nursing. Nevertheless, few pregnant women in Del Norte County are immunized against COVID-19. With our high rates of disease transmission and the fact that pregnant women get more sick when they contract the virus, immunization is urgent.
