By Donna Westfall – August 6, 2025 She had just turned 90 years old on July 25th and passed away on July 31st. . This beautiful woman was pretty enough to be a model and will be sorely missed. The last time I spent time with Rachel was during an election. She always wanted my advice on how to vote. I'd drive over to her house and we'd always start giggling about the goings on in our town. Absolutely loved her southern accent. And her home, always picture perfect. Naturally, since we were both gardeners, I had to check out her garden. This past year she stopped driving and relied on family do her shopping. She always spoke fondly of her son-in-law, Darrell Littke. He was a great help and support for her. As her health created challenges, she had to spend time in a care facility a few months ago before being able to go back home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wier's Mortuary Chapel (408 G St, Crescent City, CA 95531). A burial will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Cemetery (400 E Cooper Ave, Crescent City, CA 95531). Rest in peace my friend.
