The theme for 2025 National Emergency Medical Services Week, May 18-24 was “We Care for Everyone.”The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors recognized and honored Del Norte Ambulance for its 40 plus years of “Caring for Everyone “ at a recent Board meeting. The Crescent Fire Department has lobbied a slim majority of supervisors to re-evaluate DNAMB’s Agreement by hiring a consultant to shop the market for alternative emergency services. To date, $97,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services Emergency Fund, without a declaration of the nature of the emergency. The cost to conduct the EndPoint evaluation is anticipated to exceed $150,000 over the next three years. In a letter signed by City Fire Chief Kevin Carey, and co-signed by the other four area chiefs, the group has displayed opposition to the granting of an Exclusive Operatating Agreement (EOA) in 2028.
