(L-R) Claudia, Christina, Aurea (sitting), Aria and Adolfo A blink of the eye, and four decades have past. 1984 marked the year Mom Aurea and niece Linda took over the old deli on what is now the Mason Mall, downtown Crescent City.Locals wanted Mexican food. Aurea started with crackpots and adjusted her delicious recipes to locals’ taste. Word of mouth was quick and very successful. Mom and Dad expanded the kitchen and before one can say “con much gusto,” Cristina’s Mexican Restaurant began.
