The goal of building a Performing Arts and Civic Center in Del Norte County is one step closer, thanks to a $268,250 grant from the Redwood Region RISE Collaborative’s Catalyst Awards Program. Partnership for the Performing Arts (PPA), the nonprofit behind the Center, will use the Award to support its Capital Campaign fund-raising efforts, beginning with a feasibility study. As one of only nine projects selected from a field of sixty-six applicants from Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino counties, the Center promises extensive cultural, economic, and civic impact for the region. While dedicated first and foremost to supporting the performing arts in public education, the endeavor will have many additional benefits. Businesses will experience an economic boost from the increased attendance at performances, community gatherings, conferences, corporate retreats, and special events. It will provide extra incentive to prospective teachers, professionals, businesses and families to make the Wild Rivers Coast region their home. In an area where most cannot afford to go to the world, community access to a wide variety of cultural enrichment opportunities will improve the quality of life for people of all ages. Last but not least, the Center will function as a much-needed a gathering space for communication and public service during natural disasters or other adverse events. The Catalyst Awards program is a mile-marker of Redwood Region RISE Collaborative’s ten-year#placement_573654_0_i{width:100%;max-width:550px;margin:0 auto;}var rnd = window.rnd || Math.floor(Math.random()*10e6);var pid573654 = window.pid573654 || rnd;var plc573654 = window.plc573654 || 0;var abkw = window.abkw || '';var absrc = 'https://ads.empowerlocal.co/adserve/;ID=181918;size=0x0;setID=573654;type=js;sw='+screen.width+';sh='+screen.height+';spr='+window.devicePixelRatio+';kw='+abkw+';pid='+pid573654+';place='+(plc573654++)+';rnd='+rnd+';click=CLICK_MACRO_PLACEHOLDER';var _absrc = absrc.split("type=js"); absrc = _absrc[0] + 'type=js;referrer=' + encodeURIComponent(document.location.href) + _absrc[1];document.write('');“Regional Roadmap” for developing regional strategies for equitable economic growth in Tribal Lands, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino County.
