The Sheriff shared the release of non-violent offenders follows protocol and praised the District Attorney for charging these cases. Even after release, DA Micks has vowed to continue Prop. 36 cases.The Sheriff continued, โThe funding area that is lacking is the increase in populations to jails not only after the arrest, but the delay in pick up or acceptance to State prison causing some costs to local jail facilities. Rehabilitation remains the most significant cost. Del Norte cannot afford these rehabilitation costs. At this time, it appears Gov. Newsom is unwilling to fund the rehabilitation portion. The impact on Del Norte County is profound. I urge the Governor to provide funding for Prop.36 rehabilitation.โ googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('ad-1515727'); });
