Photo credit: DNUSD Bess Maxwell School Graffiti - VandalizedA severe vandalism assault on the Bess Maxwell School occurred about 3:00AM, Monday January 25.According to Superintendent Jeff Harris, Community members and staff notified Director of Facilities, Josh McCubbin at about 11:00AM, Monday who contacted the Superintendent who arranged for Facilities to immediately abate the scrawl. McCubbin and staff Ramon Gallardo within the hour covered the graffiti and the scrawl was covered by 2:30PM.Del Norte Sheriff Garrett Scott has opened a formal investigation; to date, no arrests have been made.Supt. Harris underscored, โVandalism toward school facilities is a serious issue that not only damages property but takes needed fiscal and personnel resources from students and the learning environmenent.
