I’m interested in that which is easily felt but very difficult to portray, the aliveness and human spirit,” says Mapurunga.McGarry is a watercolor specialist extraordinaire inspired by the natural world. McGarry hopes to use her superb talents to add a certain depth and perspective to her art.Both will spend several weeks in Parks-provided housing within the National and State Parks to pursue their particular art form, surrounded by the awe-inspiring landscape of the Park.The National Park Service, California State Parks and Redwood Parks Conservancy have collaborated to sponsor the Artist-In-Residence program. Redwood Parks Conservancy support staff During the residency, the artist will be given ample time and opportunities to find inspiration throughout the Park.As part of the program, the artist will be expected to provide at least one public presentation.
