Prompted by an email commending Officer Magnolia Valero’s efforts in arresting a potential fraudster attempting to victimize an elderly Crescent City resident, Coast Central Credit Union manager Robert Machado appeared before councilors to personally thank the CCPD for its excellent work in stopping the fraud crime in progress. “We caught the bad guy thanks to (Officer Valero) the Police Force.” According to Machado, Officer Valero was on patrol July 12 when she learned the suspect was back at the Credit Union attempting to change the potential victim’s accounts to his.
