Band Camp (Curry County)August 5th-9th from 10am - 3pm, Bruin Jr. Band Camp 2024 will commence! All students from incoming 5th grade through 9th grade are welcome. Junior Band Camp is FREE this year! If you would like to help set off costs, donations are welcome. Families who give $50 to our camp would be contributing to food, T-shirts, music, and equipment. Your generous contribution will go a long way in supporting the program. The show is exhibited in the upper mezzanine at the airport. You can walk up the beautiful staircase or use the elevator for easy access. It is a stunning and unique location to showcase art! Performance Arts Season (Del Norte County)This coming ‘24-’25 Performance Series for DNACA is to be announced soon! Exciting cultural groups are scheduled for the lineup. All shows will be at Crescent Elk Auditorium in Crescent City on G St. It’s going to be an exciting season! Crescent Harbor Art Gallery Fine Art Juried National Show (Del Norte County)This is a 2-dimensional art show. No computer art or photography allowed. Oil, watercolor, pen & pencil drawing, pyrology, collage, mixed media, etcetera. This is a juried art show with judges from out of the area jurying the show. This year we will have judges from Bandon, Coos Bay, and Sacramento. Entries will be $20 each entry with a maximum of three entries for each artist. Prizes for the show will be $500 1st place, $300 2nd place, $200 3rd place, and 4 honorable mentions, plus a People’s Choice award, voted on by the people at the reception. For the entrants, and general public, on September 7th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Snacks, and liquid refreshments will be served. Redfish Music Festival (Curry and Del Norte Counties)The Redfish Music Festival Announces Exciting Concerts for 2024 Summer SeasonPort Orford, July 26 — August 4 – The Redfish Music Festival is excited to bring its 2024 summer season to the south coast region of Oregon, promising many evenings of first rate classical programming. Set against the stunning backdrop of the southern Oregon coast, this year’s festival is poised to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.Celebrating its 4th year, the Redfish Music Festival has become known for their classical chamber music concerts, and the 2024 season will feature our world-renowned faculty performers as well as 9 students from around the country performing works they have prepared while at the festival. Students and faculty will be in residence in the small coastal town of Port Orford for 10 days. The festival will present performances up and down the south coast in North Bend, Bandon, Langlois, Port Orford, Gold Beach and Crescent City. Highlights of the 2024 Redfish Music Festival lineup include:· Two concerts in Crescent City California, Saturday July 27th at 2:00pm. The faculty of the festival will perform Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E-flat major, and Dohnanyi’s Op. 1 Quintet in C minor. The following week on Friday Aug 2nd, students of the festival will perform an evening concert at 7:00. Both events are at the Cultural Center on Front Street. The closing concert at the Cheese Factory in Langlois Oregon on August 4th at 7:00.· Free events including an open masterclass at the Port Orford Public Library on Wednesday July 31st from 1-3, and casual student performances at Mr. Ed’s Pizza on Thursday Aug 1st at 1:00, and outside the Castaway Motel on Sat Aug 3rd at 12:00 noon.· 4 faculty members and 9 students will perform during the week in different combinations of players on piano, violin, viola and cello.
