16 incoming Seniors experienced the trip of a lifetime, traveling to Washington DC an New York, in June.Del Norte High School Government and Economics Teacher Andrew Fitch and his wife Sommer chaperoned the group conducted by EF Tours.June 16, the Group flew out of Medford en route to our Nation’s capital. The tour covered five days in DC and the Big Apple. Each traveler needed to raise at least $3000 for the adventure. Students received college credit for the trip. The DC Trip included the following:• Tour of the Capitol Building. Students observed a Senate vote.• Side trips to George Washington’s home at Mt. Vernon and Arlington National Cemetery. One student was able to locate and honor one of his relatives.• Tours of the Smithsonian and Holocaust Memorial.The Trip to New York included the following:• Tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.• The Empire State Building.• Watch a Broadway play.
