Ricky was born in Crescent City, CA and graduated from Del Norte High School. He later joined the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. Upon returning to the States, he attended Shasta College in Redding, CA where he played college football for the Eagles. After earning his degree, he obtained a job at McNamara & Peep, working there most of his adult career.He loved watching his favorite team, the Chicago Bears and was overjoyed when they won the '86 Super Bowl. In his free time, he enjoyed photography, reading, collecting old comic books and walking the beach in search of agates.Ricky was the youngest of seven, a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Lee "Olen" Strother, his siblings, Edward Winters, Robert Winters, Wanda Peterson, Linda Haddad, and Diana Pritchett. He is survived by his sister, Brenda Arab.Interment services will be held at the Del Norte County Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the Elks Lodge located in Crescent City.
