The Anderson-Klotz families regretfully announce the passing of Dian Elizabeth Klotz Anderson on January 20, 2024. Dian Anderson was the wife of Robert (Bob) Anderson of Crescent City, CA, and the sister of Karl (Linda) of Grants Pass, OR., Juelann Klotz of Berkeley, CA., and Mark Klotz of Crescent City, CA. Dian, born in San Francisco, was the oldest of the seven children of Gustav and Elizabeth Klotz of Crescent City, CA. Dian is preceded in death by her parents, as listed above, and brothers, Paul Klotz, John Klotz, and Rolf Klotz. She is also, sadly, preceded in death by her daughter, Juelan Anderson, who died of a Glioblastoma in 2010.Dian had lived in Crescent City since 1951 after her family moved from the Bay Area. She briefly attended Crescent Elk Grammar School and finished her primary education at St. Joseph Grammar School, graduating in 1957. She then attended Del Norte High, graduating in 1961.In 1964, Dian married Bob Anderson on the Saturday following the infamous Tsunami in Crescent City. They welcomed their only child in May of 1965.Dian's professional journey was marked by her dedication and versatility. She began as a typesetter at the American, then served as an admissions clerk at Seaside Hospital, a secretary at Coast Forrest Products, and finally, an Insurance Agent at Fraser Yamor Jacob. Her commitment and hard work left a lasting impact in each role she undertook.Dian was crazy about her numerous nieces and nephews, inviting them as children for sleepovers, trips to the river, San Francisco for a play or two, and trips abroad. Becky Slater (Shawn), Kristi Bentley, Amy Klotz, Jeanette Garrett (Grant), Dana Welsh (Doug), Dean Klotz (Katie), Daniel Klotz (Nicole), David Klotz-Durow (Courtney), Natalie Levy (Dave), and Kyle Page. She also had a contingency of Anderson-Knutson nieces and nephews in the Pacific Northwest, whom she adored.A few of the many other friends and family who will miss Dian are Colleen Stone (Rick), Karen Haben Jamieson (Phil), Pam MacFarland (Howard), loving friends Roger and Cindi Hogan, and her favorite Cousin Dolores Harrison.The family will host a Celebration of Life for Dian at 1911 Sunrise Avenue Crescent City, CA, on July 5, 2024, from 1:00 until y'all go home.
