About 100 Del Norters came out to the Del Norte Regional Airport and welcome the Japanese Delegation for the Kamome Festival last week. The Delegation came to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the landing of the barnacle-covered vessel which floated across the Pacific for over two years before landing on Del Norteβs coast following the 2011 Tsunami catastrophe which killed over 2000 in Rikuzentakata, Japan. The tragedy formed and bonded the two communities in a Sister City Relationship which flourishes today.
