Saturday, January 21 during the early morning, units from the Crescent Fire Protection District fought a stubborn seven hour blaze of the long-vacant mini shopping center located along the 3100 Parkway Drive, just south of the 199.Longtime neighbor Ron Kunstal reflected on a half-century of memories of what was once the Serudies and then the Benson Market/ beauty shop and ultimately vacant building. The source of the blaze is unknown but the property has long been a site for transient occupancy. Two fire units from the Crescent Fire Protection District knocked down the blaze.
