5th District Supervisor Dean Wilson was elected the 2024 Board Chairperson for the Del Norte County Board of Supervisors, Tuesday.4th District Supervisor Joey Borges was elected as Vice ChairFormer Chair Darrin Short opened nominations at the January 9th scheduled Board meeting. Vice Chair District 2 Supervisor Valerie Starkey nominated Darrin Short for a second term as chair. The nomination failed to garner a second.Chairperson position. In an alternate motion, Supervisor Joey Borges nominated Dean Wilson for Chair. Wilson seconded his own nomination. The Board voted 5-0 in favor of Wilson who expediently assumed the gavel and thanked his colleagues for their support.
