6/4/1957 – 12/11/2023Stephen (Steve) Hurt was born in Carmel, CA, on June 4th, 1957, to Leon Hurt and Barbara Shumway. He moved to Crescent City where he met, fell in love with, and married Peggy Sue Abrahamson. Soon after, they had two sons, Jason, and Kyle, whom they also raised in Crescent City.In retirement, Steve enjoyed cooking, playing and coaching golf to children at Illinois Valley Country Club over the summers, spending time with his sons and granddaughters, and watching the Raiders. Everyone who knew Steve knew how special he was. Steve was full of life and joy, traits that were obvious to all after even just a single meeting with him.Steve is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue, his children, Jason and Kyle, his daughters in law, Jolene and Aileen, and his granddaughters, Katie, Kelly, Kyrie, and Sophia, and an abundance of friends. We will miss him more than words can say.A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Steve’s life with friends and loved ones. Location, Date, and Time are TBD.
