With reference to Congressman Jared Huffman’s Opinion piece in the Triplicate on November 8, 2023, I take issue with his criticism of the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. First, he calls him an “avid Christian Nationalist”, as if that is supposed to scare people who don’t believe in God or the greatness of this country. Simply put, life is a struggle between Good and Evil. Good and God are the same thing. And according to the new book by Mark Levin, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HATES AMERICA. Huffman mentions abortion first in discussing the Democrat platform, whereas Johnson merely thinks the issue of abortion should be returned to the states. When I was growing up, abortion was considered sort of a fall-back position in the case of an unwanted pregnancy. But since Roe v. Wade was overturned, abortions are rapidly decreasing. For example, abortion candidates are being shown sonograms of their baby’s heartbeat, and they are choosing not to go through the painful procedure of abortion.Huffman says Johnson is homophobic, anti-LGBTQ. Rather, Huffman supports the “gender affirming care for trans kids”, which Johnson considers “butchery.”Further, Huffman is in favor of the Open Border, which we all know is a disaster.According to Huffman, Johnson is a “climate change denier.” We all know, or should know, that “climate change” is another scam that Democrats are using to destroy our economy.Huffman ends with, “Speaker Johnson embodies one of the most serious threats to democracy of our time: an outright rejection of the separation of Church and State.” RIDICULOUS.
