Robert was born in December 1944 at Klamath Falls to Luke and Cora Mutchie. He spent his childhood in Redding attending St Joseph’s Catholic School and graduating from Enterprise High. He attended Chico State University obtaining his bachelor’s in biology and agriculture. He worked as an Agriculture Inspector for many years. After additional study in Criminal Justice, he became a counselor known as “Mr. Bob” at Bar-O boy’s ranch. Bob loved reading, birdwatching, archery, traveling, silly family tea parties and disc golf. He passed peacefully in September 2023 with Diane, his wife of 45 years, at his side. He is survived by his wife, cousin Mary Gibbons, his nephew Christopher and his nieces Dominique and Alexandria. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas and the soddy-house pioneers waiting for him at the family cemetery in Nebraska.He asked that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
