By Donna Westfall – October 15, 2023 UPDATE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY *** 10/13/23 19:19HRS The suspect was located and detained by Brookings PD and is in custody in Curry County, Oregon. Deanna Esmaeel, was found dead in her home Thursday, October 12th. Her boyfriend, Daniel James Walker, of two years was suspected of killing her. A manhunt was initiated and although they found his car after issuing a BOLO, he was nowhere to be found. He was later located in Curry County, Oregon. Deanna Esmaeel was a Del Norte County Sheriff's Deputy. Her son, Marty York, acted in the movie, "Sandlot." Here he is with his mother in the middle posted to his Instagram where he asked for the public's help in locating the suspect.
