I have always been in favor of law enforcement, however this 4th of July I observed a complete abuse of authority. Two deputies called to Pebble Beach let certain persons smoke marijuana then later vandalized a families belongings by throwing the items into a fire, then rolled the logs on fire down to the water.Afterwards the vandals were confronted without altercation by the family, however these vandals called and used the sheriff’s office by making a false statement with pretty outlandish claims.When the deputies arrived on scene they followed the family to their residence without any evidence witnesses or proof just hearsay. Instead of asking about any incident the two deputies abused their authority by staying at the residence and staring at the family for quite a long period of time.I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. Instead of going after the vandals the two deputies stood at the front of the residence with the hands on their guns and kept trying to provoke the family that left the scene to avoid conflict. One deputy asked if the family wanted to go to jail, then ordered them to stay at the residence completely abusing their authority.
