Melody lived a fulfilling life as a mother, sister, wife, and friend. She loved the beach, her dog, Winnie the Pooh, and family nights. In keeping with her nature, funeral services are private and for immediate family only. Those wishing to honor her life can make a donation in her name to the ASPCA. Melody is survived by the loving friends of Crescent City and her husband of 21 years, Mr. Lyn Poitz, their two children: Dakota Lewis Poitz and Sasha Ashley Camp, along with her husband Necko and their children. Melody is also survived by one sister, Tammie McKay, one brother, and several cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, and her lifelong best friend Liz Barbee. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met.
