Summer youth programs across Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity and Curry counties received grants ranging from $500 to $3,000 from the generous affiliates, funders and partners of Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Community Foundation (HAF+WRCF).A total of $50,634 in grants were distributed to 43 charitable organizations and projects that offer activities and programs — June 1 through September 1 — that provide quality educational and outdoor stewardship activities, and artistic and recreational activities and scholarships for vulnerable youth in the region.The Summer Youth Partnership Mini -Grant Program is supported by HAF+WRCF, McLean Foundation, The Patricia D. & William B. Smullin Foundation, and Providence’s Community Health Investment. Individual funder contributions include Ed & Barbara Brattain Memorial Fund and Brattain Family Student Enrichment. The Port Orford Public Library Foundation will use grant money for its reading program.
