More than 3,300 properties and their respective owners received a letter from the county, a public hearing will be held considering raising the assessment on anticipated sewer repairs in service area 1 (CSA 1). In subsequent years, 2024 through 2028, the assessment will increase 50 percent next year, 25 percent in 2025, 15 percent in 2026, seven percent in 2027 and six percent in 2028.The cumulative adjustment over the next five years is 245 percent.Written protests must be submitted prior to the public input portion of the public hearing and mailed or dropped off at the Del Norte County Clerk/Recorder, 981 H St, Suite 160.The protest must be in writing (no emails) include the position in opposition to the user fees increase, the parcel number, and signature of the property owner.
