Kira Lorene Standring, the daughter of Dr. James (Jim) and Lori Standring of Crescent City, has graduated from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in Orem, Utah with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and has earned her registered dental hygienist certification along with the Class of December 2022.This is her second bachelor’s degree after having earned a B.S. in Exercise and Wellness from Brigham Young University in April 2021, where she was also a member of the university marching band and Color Guard.With this recent degree, Kira joins her father (local dentist Dr. Jim Standring, DDS) and two brothers, James (“Jimmer”) and Garrett (who are also dentists), in the dental field. Kira was a 2014 Del Norte High School graduate where she was drum major and a vocal and instrumental musician with the music program, as well as being on the Warriors’ track and field team and the girls’ soccer team where she earned a “White Star” all-star award as a goalkeeper.She also served a Spanish-speaking church mission for a year and a half for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arizona prior to dental hygiene school.
