The Del Norte Humane Society will host a grant-funded spay-neuter clinic at the Yurok Tribe’s Community Room in Klamath March 25-26 at the Yurok Tribe’s Community Room in Klamath.According to the California for All Animals grant program, lawful and effective spay and neuter programs are needed to stabilize the massive overpopulation of dogs and cats destined to end up in overwhelmed and beleaguered animal shelters.The UC Davis Veterinary School through its California for All Animals Koret Shelter Medicine Program has distributed $45 million to organizations such as the Humane Society of Del Norte (HSDN) to assist and provide spay and neuter services to shelters in need. Contributed photo The Humane Society of Del Norte (HSDN) has contracted with PUB VET, a mobile spay and neuter service called Neuter Scooter to conduct spay and neuter services on Tribal land.Four Paws performs limited spay and neuter service from the Humane Society.The Yurok Tribe issued a statement, Jan. 27 declaring the following: “Individuals and groups may rent out the Tribe’s Community Room. The Humane Society of Del Norte rents the space for it spay and neuter clinic.
