On February 23, 2023, the City and County offices were closed due to a snowstorm. The Tri-Agency was supposed to have its meeting at 3 pm however, since there had been a public radio announcement over the radio station that the County and City offices were closed it was easy to surmise that the Tri-Agency would not be held. But, The Tri-Agency did in fact have a meeting.The first person to arrive at the meeting was a public member who tried to open the County door and discovered the doors were locked. Instead of driving home, this public member called two Harbor Commissioners and summonsed them to the County building. The County Counsel let them inside the building. Other calls were made resulting in one City Official and One County Official responding in order to have a quorum.The Tri-Agency then proceeded to conduct a meeting without informing the public the meeting was still occurring after announcing the county building was closed due to the snowstorm. There were two sources that concluded that the County Building was closed. The Del Norte County Facebook page and KCRE radio station public announcement.This is a perfect example of corrupted practices by the elected. The Tri-Agency’s fatal flaw of failure was realized in 2012 when their doors were closed and the Director quit due to lack of funds. Since Kevin Hendrick had to summon people to show up, what does that say about his character for transparency?
