By Kevin Kiley – August 22, 2023 Joe Biden is vacationing for the week, along with Hunter, at the Lake Tahoe home of billionaire Tom Steyer. Steyer is the single largest Democrat political donor in U.S. history. Tom Steyer In April 2020, shortly after his presidential campaign fizzled, Steyer was tapped by Newsom to head California’s COVID “Economic Recovery” Commission. We all know how that went. (Read my account of the infamous Steyer Commission here). But while he’s in the area, I’m inviting Biden to drive to the California side of the lake and down to the scene of the Caldor Fire – specifically, the town of Grizzly Flats where 785 of my constituents tragically lost their homes. Shortly after the fire, Biden pledged to help the victims. “We’re going to take care of them,” he said. He broke that promise, repeatedly denying aid. Earlier this year, I confronted Biden about this at the White House. He replied, “oh no,” and said he wanted to fix it. That hasn’t happened. Pres. Nancy Ward, OES DIrector Meanwhile, I am formally requesting an oversight hearing on the Chinese bio lab operating secretly in California, which was kept from the public for nine months after its discovery. I’ve also sent a series of pointed questions about the lab to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. Xavier Becerra Speaking of Becerra: my questioning of him in committee has emerged as a barrier to new mask mandates. With some private institutions starting to reinstitute them, Becerra’s on-the-record inability to cite any health benefit may help us stop further government-imposed insanity.
