Blair Schweikl passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Meridian, Idaho at the home of her daughter.Born Mary Blair Buzzini on November 7, 1950, in Crescent City to Melvin and Ernestine (Nelson) Buzzini.She attended St Joseph’s Catholic School and Del Norte High School, graduating in 1969.At the age of 10 she saw 15-year-old Nolan “Pogie” Schweikl working at her dad’s Shell service station, on the corner of 9th Street and Highway 101, she said to her mother that she was going to marry that man someday. Her mother was not too pleased to hear these words from her young daughter, but 9 years later she did just that. Pogie and Blair were married on April 10, 1970, in Crescent City. To this union were born four children: Eric, Regina, Scott, and Amy. They lived in Crescent City until 1983. Pogie’s work took them out of the area, finally settling in Cloverdale where they raised their family.Blair was active in her children’s lives and was well known among the young people in Cloverdale. She began working at Washington School as a cafeteria aide, but soon became the face you saw at all the schools.She worked in the office, the classroom, the cafeteria, the playground and anywhere else she was needed. She loved working with kids and has so many fond memories of them. However, her fondest memories were from the many friends of her children. One of those friends said it best when he wrote, “The door was always open, you could always find food for your belly, love for your heart, laughs for your soul, wisdom for your growth and a cocker spaniel or two for your lap.”Blair is preceded in death by her husband Nolan and her parents Melvin and Ernestine Buzzini. She is survived by her children, Eric Schweikl, of Cloverdale; Regina Farris (Bob) of Meridian, Idaho; Scott Schweikl (Mishel), of Cloverdale; and Amy Dale (Tom) of Healdsburg; and her brother Richard Buzzini of McKinleyville. Grandchildren Cheyenne and Monet Palmer, Gradin and Astrea Schweikl, Clayton, Sage and Erica Farris, TJ, and Cole Dale. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved like her own.A celebration of life will be held on September 10, 2022, at the Veterans Memorial Building, 205 W 1st St, Cloverdale, CA 95425. Cheery attire requested.
