In Flanders Field is recited by Scott Rogers at the Veterans Cemetery. Holding the VFW Post 1381 flag is James Burgess. Top below, the Point of Honor, at the corner of Front Street and Highway 101 South honors those Del Norte County residents who gave their lives in armed conflict to preserve America’s rights and freedoms. Second below, “Remember, Reflect, Respect.” Crescent City Councilman Blake Inscore reminds those assembled at the City’s Point of Honor that, while Memorial Day is a holiday, and for many, a day off work, for veterans who served during a time of war, it brings back sad memories of their fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who did not return home. Very bottom, Honor guard members Captain Phil Penner, Walt Fletcher, James O’Shaughnessey and Ted Harber salute the fallen service men and women and other veterans buried at the Veterans Cemetery in Crescent City. #placement_573654_0_i{width:100%;max-width:550px;margin:0 auto;}var rnd = window.rnd || Math.floor(Math.random()*10e6);var pid573654 = window.pid573654 || rnd;var plc573654 = window.plc573654 || 0;var abkw = window.abkw || '';var absrc = 'https://ads.empowerlocal.co/adserve/;ID=181918;size=0x0;setID=573654;type=js;sw='+screen.width+';sh='+screen.height+';spr='+window.devicePixelRatio+';kw='+abkw+';pid='+pid573654+';place='+(plc573654++)+';rnd='+rnd+';click=CLICK_MACRO_PLACEHOLDER';var _absrc = absrc.split("type=js"); absrc = _absrc[0] + 'type=js;referrer=' + encodeURIComponent(document.location.href) + _absrc[1];document.write(''); googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('ad-1515727'); });
