Ink People Center for the Arts, in collaboration with Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness, recently announced the Funds For Artists’ Resilience Artists’ Resilience Mini-grant award recipients. This year’s awards support the creative projects of 30 artists from Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties, including work in visual arts, arts education and curriculum creation, mural painting, ceramics production, animation and short film production, dance and community theater production, self-publishing, musical performance, and livestreaming. “The Ink People is thrilled to support the flourishing of the arts throughout the region,” Leslie Castellano, Ink People Executive Director said. “This funding will help launch high impact projects, support the well-being of artists, and will contribute to the arts and culture economy of Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties. Artists and culture bearers are integral to thriving local communities. We are thankful for the opportunity to lift up each of these artists, that they may further their vital endeavors.”FAR is underwritten through the generosity of the Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Foundation, which also previously sponsored a round of public art grants for artists in these same three counties in 2020. While the 2020 FAR grants focused on proposals that used public art to benefit the community as a whole, the 2022 mini-grant program promoted the individual well-being of area artists and culture bearers.
